Pastor's Message

I am extremely blessed and thankful to God for the opportunity to serve at Saint Luke's, Pumpkin Center. In the words of the Apostle Paul (1 Timothy 1:11-12)"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has enabled me, in that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry."

My wife, Esther, and I came here somewhat by accident. I was simply filling in on Sunday mornings for a few months. She and I quickly discovered the friendliness of the congregation. We were impressed by the deep faith and trust the leadership has in the Lord.

When the congregation asked that I consider serving more, not just Sundays but the days between, we jumped at the opportunity. I'm here not only to tend to the daily needs of the congregation, but also to help the congregation move forward as another will take my place.

Saint Luke's has a tremendous history, It's the oldest Lutheran Church in Lincoln County. It has a beautiful present. The people make this church. Most important, Saint Luke's has a fantastic future. We are determined to listen to God and trust Him as He directs.

To the wonderful members of Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Pumpkin Center, I pray and thank God for each of you. To the folks in Lincoln County....if you're looking for a church home, I believe you'll find one here.

For every prayer that has been answered; for every marriage helped; for every bereaved person comforted. For every sermon preached; to God be the Glory.

I am hopeful that this web-site will be a blessing to the people at Saint Luke's. More especially I pray it is a blessing to the many who clicked a link in search of something missing in their lives. I pray this website will bless someone not even aware of how this page happened to open in their computer. Believe me ...the God who loves them and walks daily with them knows.

Rev. Roger Reckling - Pastor
